Waiting on my library to get their ebook system up and running. The lady said they are hoping to have it done soon but wasn't sure of an exact time frame.

Will do but who knows when I'll get to use it. Seems like the only thing people around here do fast is drive. Rolling Eyes

love the fact that the library here has e-books it is super easy to use and what I like best it's free! You might check out gutenburg collection, it has the classics all free, you can read Wuthering heights and so on while you are waiting for your Library to get it up and going! Hope they get it soon! Hugs dear!

I have been using both the ebook and audiobook lending from my local library for about the last two years. I've really enjoyed it. If your own library does not offer ebook lending, there are some libraries that allow people from outside their area to pay a fee to join their service. I have heard that the Philadelphia Free Library does this.

There are also other lending opportunities, including person-to-person Kindle lending. I think Nook does something similar.

Amazon.com has a service they call "Prime Lending." If you buy up to amazon prime service, you get one free book a month from these selections, with no due date.

There are also a lot of free ebooks for each of the devices. Many are by new authors trying to generate interest, but some also are offered by major publishers, usually first books in a series, that they are using as a marketing tool.

The Gutenberg books are mostly available as free downloads from the major providers, so you don't have to go through the download and transfer via a cable to your device.

The Baen Free Library offers a number of science fiction and fantasy books, their selections change from time to time.

Thanks for the update ladyhawke. Our small town library doesn't have anything like this available yet but it's nice to know such things are out there.

good to see you again,it's been awhile.

Still waiting for my library to get the ebooks program running, last I checked the lady wasn't sure how much longer it would be. In the mean time I get free books from Barnes&Noble and Google.

My work schedule is pretty brutal. I rarely get to have good computer time.

As a new employee, I don't have a lot of vacation time, and have had to use that time to attend meetings and conferences.
