What an interesting juxtaposition of sweet treats for the eyes, and sour for the mind - political lobbying for people held against their will. How sad for those in custody.

Thank you for another lovely photoshop confection!

Lovely! We shall have a fun time dancing, chatting, and feasting! Beautiful cookies. Ah, Alanland in the snow is enchanting. Think I'll entice George into a sleigh ride in the moonlight.

IndieWire reports:
Kate Winslet & Matthias Schoenaerts To Star In Alan Rickman Directed Period Drama 'A Little Chaos'

Persistence pays off it would seem. To date, celebrated actor Alan Rickman only has one feature film directing credit to his name, 1997's "The Winter Guest," and while we've yet to see a sophomore effort, it hasn't been for lack of trying. Rickman has had a couple of projects percolating over the years, but the one that he's stuck with has been "A Little Chaos." It looks like his determination has finally yielded some results, with two great actors on board and a start date in sight.
Baz Bamigboye reveals that Kate Winslet and "Rust & Bone" star Matthias Schoenaerts will topline the Rickman directed "A Little Chaos." Penned by Allison Deegan, the film will tell the unique story of rival landscapes gardeners who are both commissioned to create a fountain at Versailles by Louis XIV. Winslet and Schoenaerts will spar in the main roles, and Rickman has been busy scouting locations and revising the script in preparation for a spring shoot. It will be Winslet's second time up to bat with Rickman, co-starring with him in "Sense & Sensibility," while Schoenaerts adds the project to a very busy 2013 slate that also includes "Suite Francaise" with Michelle Williams. The guy sure knows how to pick his projects.

While we wonder about just how compelling a gardening drama with frocks and wigs will be, we'd basically watch Winslet and Schoenaerts read the phonebook, so we're down. It's been a long journey for Rickman who has been talking up this one for years, but hopefully everything is finally in place.
The Daily Mail adds:
Kate Winslet has stepped in to help her friend Alan Rickman make a love story about two gardeners.

Rickman had been trying to shoot the movie — about rival landscape gardeners commissioned by Louis XIV to create a fountain at Versailles — for years. He first told me about the film, A Little Chaos, a couple of years ago and explained how he’d been working with writer Alison Deegan on the script since around 2007.

Rickman said he had spent a lot of time scouting locations, revising the script and trying to cast the film.
But now he’s found his two leads and everything in the garden is looking rosy, with filming set to begin in the spring.
The Total Film poll results in their "sexiest actor" competition are in, and Alan is there at Number 7.

Sweet! I wonder if he will plan a part for himself, even just a cameo? Interesting theme for a movie. Love Versailles! I don't recall seeing the gentleman in anything before, will have to imdb him.

Number 7 is extremely acceptable, considering fickle Hollywood. Of course we would place him higher!

In an interview a couple of years ago, I believe he'd said he'd be playing the King of France, which certainly could be interesting! king

Received from the "Dust" filmmakers today:
Dear Backer,

Thank you for both your on going support for our project and patience in receiving your rewards for your fantastic contribution!

The good news is the movie is now complete and we're so proud of it! It has just premiered at Australia's biggest short film festival, Flickerfest, and was by all accounts really well received. Thanks to its programming there, it's now eligible for submission to BAFTA next year, which is a fantastic start!

We're sending out all the rewards today, so depending on where you are in the world you should receive them soon. However, our relationship doesn't end here. Over the course of the next year we'll continue to send the film out to festivals and in most cases they require that film hasn't been shown to the general public in their country or, most importantly, online.

With that in mind, whilst we'd love for you to share your thoughts on the movie far and wide, please, please, please refrain from posting it on the web, sharing it or distributing it in any format. We'd love for the movie to get into as many festivals around the world as possible and it would be heartbreaking for it to be suddenly ineligible because it no longer fulfils that criteria.

We're so grateful for your contribution and hope that you'll continue to help us take the movie as far as it can go and to as many festivals as possible.

Lastly, and most importantly, we really hope you enjoy either the exclusive link, signed DVD, the behind the scenes stills and any other reward you receive. This whole journey has been fantastic and we hope you're excited by the result.

Thank you again!

Best wishes,
Jake and Ben
Looking forward to seeing Alan again, even if only in a very short film!

So, general public won't see this for a minimum of a year. Understandable, but what a bummer. Wish them luck in keeping it off the internet, especially if they are sending links & dvds. Even with the warning, someone will go 'oh, they'll never know!' And boom, there it is. Glad it is done, and well received at the first film fest!

Behind the scenes on "Dust".

Karentia... Doubt the film will ever get a general theatrical release since it's just a short; however, the producers have said that once the film festivals are done, the dvd will be available for purchase by the general public. Right now the dvd's are only going out to those who had donated to back the film and, of course, to various film festivals.
